Half male and half female is the textbook ratio for regular seeds, but a pack of ten can give you seven males, and there is nothing wrong with the seeds when it does. Environment in the first weeks nudges the balance a little, though mostly it is luck. The regular seed page on https://budweedseeds.com warns about this and suggests buying at least ten if you need four females, which is honest advice they could have left out. Plan for a bad draw and you will rarely be short. |
