I know I posted a while back panicking about that rattling noise on cold starts and honestly I was convinced my timing chain was about to let go and destroy my entire engine, which would have been a nightmare considering how much these repairs cost over here. Anyway I finally gathered the courage to take it in and after reading through a bunch of older threads on here I decided that this auto care center in Musaffah is worth checking out because a few people mentioned they actually specialize in European cars and have the proper tools for these tricky jobs. Long story short they had a look, confirmed the tensioner was getting weak but caught it just in time before any real damage happened, and they got everything sorted for way less than what the dealership quoted me which was a massive relief. The car feels smoother than ever now and honestly just having that peace of mind knowing it's been properly addressed is worth every dirham. If anyone else is dealing with similar anxiety over their VW engine noises I'd definitely say don't ignore it but also don't assume you have to break the bank at the dealership to get it fixed right. |
