I'm finally getting my home workshop organized after months of just piling things up in the corner, and one thing I really need is a proper way to store bulk materials like paint thinners, oils, and some dry chemicals I use for various projects. I've been looking around at different options and I keep coming across these open-top drums that look really practical because you can just pop the lid off and scoop out what you need without having to pour from a narrow opening. I found a supplier that has 50 l drums for sale at what seems like a reasonable price, and I'm thinking of picking up a couple for my workshop setup. The thing I'm not sure about is whether the lids seal tightly enough to keep fumes contained, because some of the chemicals I work with have pretty strong odors and I don't want the whole garage smelling like solvents every time I walk in. Also, are these easy to clean out when I need to switch between different materials? I'd really appreciate any advice from people who use these in their workshops or garages. |
