 Yukon Denali shifting hard, is this a known issue or should I be worried?

My 2016 Yukon Denali has started shifting hard, especially from first to second when I am accelerating gently. It feels like a thump rather than a smooth change and it is getting more noticeable. The truck has about 130,000 km on it and I am not sure if the transmission fluid has ever been changed, which I know is probably part of the problem. I was searching around and ended up on https://gearboxrepairsharjah.ae/brands/gmc/ while trying to figure out if this is a common thing on these 8 speed boxes, but I wanted to hear from actual GMC owners first. Has anyone had hard shifting on a Denali and did a fluid change help or was it something more serious? I am hoping it is not the torque converter but I would rather know now than later. |
